Importance of Health to Society
It is a sad reality that some people just take their health for granted. They do not exercise. They do not observe proper diets. Instead, indulge themselves in things that are not good for the body. It is because they have not been taught what exactly is the importance of their body's well-being.
When a person does not keep himself healthy, it can affect how he accomplishes his functions to society. For instance, if he keeps getting sick, it will hamper his ability to do his work because he will keep on calling in sick. This would cause a chain reaction: the productivity of the company he works for will be negatively affected by his absences and in turn his reputation will be impacted. He may end up losing his job because of his sporadic attendance caused by being sick a lot of times.
By ensuring his good health, however, one can make sure that their lives will be as long as they want to. When we are fit and healthy, there are virtually little chances that we will be stricken with diseases or suffer complications as we grow older. Certain conditions like hypertension and cardiac diseases take their root from unhealthy practices and, with health education, we and our children can learn the things that we need to know to avoid having to complications in our elder years. Having health education also helps a person play his role to society better, as he will be fit enough to do a lot of things that he otherwise cannot do if he gets sick all the time.
