Day 1

Local departure and a journey to Dover/Folkestone for the 10.00 am crossing to Calais. After disembarkation, our coach will continue to Holland and our chosen hotel. This evening your evening meal will be served in the hotel’s restaurant. D

Day 2

Today, after breakfast, join the coach for an included visit to Arnhem - site of Operation Market Garden. We will take you to many of the key sites of the operation, including a visit to Ginkel Heath to see the memorial parachute drop site and also to John Frost Bridge, named after the gallant commander of the battalion who defended it for four days. You will also have free time to explore Arnhem town, where you can see the historic Korenmarkt - a small square that escaped much of the destruction - and perhaps relax with a drink at one of the friendly restaurants and bars. From Arnhem we head to Oosterbeek, here we have included entrance to the Airborne Museum, you’ll also have a chance to spend time in the Airborne cemetery, where thousands of those who died are commemorated. Day 3

After breakfast this morning, we visit the Grave Bridge Battle and Groesbeek area, including the Commonwealth War Graves cemetery, which contains the memorial bearing the names of 1103 Commonwealth Servicemen who have no known grave. Follow the battle for the bridge across the Waal at Nijmegen, we’ve also included a visit to to the National Liberation Museum, which overlooks the Landing Zones of the American 82nd Airborne Division and Reichswald Forest. Day 4

After breakfast this morning we start to make our way back to Calais, making an en route visit to Ypres. On arrival back in the UK we will transfer you back to your original joining point. B, D
