Waterloo Anniversary Re-enactment

Waterloo Anniversary Re-enactment

4-Day Break

  • Day 1June 15 Depart from Manchester, Leeds Bradford, Sheffield, Derby, Birmingham, Northampton, London Victoria, Luton, Thurrock Services, Ashford or Dover for the crossing to France and on to our hotel in Belgium for three nights. Free parking is available in Dover if you wish to drive to Dover to meet your coach, or we have a great deal with free parking at the Holiday Inn Ashford – call for details.
  • Day 2 & 3June 16 & 17 We spend two days attending the Battle Re-enactments and visiting the ‘battle camps’, which the re-enactor groups establish close to the battlefield. Here you see what a British or French camp of 1815 looked like and see drill, camp life and equipment on display. During the weekend we also visit the Wellington Museum in Waterloo, see the key farms of La Haye Sainte and Hougoumont, and walk the fields where the fighting took place. We visit the Lion Mount Visitors Centre, see the unique Waterloo panorama and climb the steps up the Lion Mound to get a spectacular view of where history was changed forever. With the gunsmoke, the cavalry and the evocative battlefield locations this proves to be a tour to remember. 2xB
