On this eye-opening day we’ll head to Pegasus Bridge to hear the story of the glider borne assault, pay a visit to Cafe Gondree the first building to be liberated and visit the Pegasus Memorial Museum. We then head to Merville Battery, a German gun bunker captured by the British. After which we’ll hear about the battle for Breville and visit the CWGC Cemetery and Airborne Memorial at Ranville. Sword Beach was the code name for the most easterly of the invasion beaches and our final destination today, the British 3rd Division landed here on D-Day and you’ll hear their story as they tried to press on to Caen. Day 3

Today join us as we take in Bayeux (the first French town to be liberated) and the US D Day Beaches of Omaha and Utah. The Ponte du Hoc, meanwhile brings back all the memories of the war, as it has been left unchanged, and you can walk amid craters, semi-ruined German Bunkers, barbed-wire fences and bomb-pocked cliffs. We have also included a visit to the Battle of Normandy memorial Museum and time to explore the pretty town of Bayeux. B, D
