“Travel to many emotive locations on the Western Front battles of the Great War.”
Our expert guide will journey with you to many of the crucial locations of the battlefields of the First World War. You will be taken to Tyne Cot cemetery to witness the world’s largest British war cemetery, to original British trenches at Hill 62 known to the British army as Sanctuary Wood and to the Spanbroekmolen Mine Crater, which is one of the craters blown at the beginning of the Battle of Messines. On day three we visit Vimy Ridge and the Somme Valley and you will visit Newfoundland Park, Beaumont Hamel, Thiepval and Albert. On day four we visit Ypres. You will have free time here; why not visit the ‘In Flanders Field’ museum at the Cloth Hall. The poignant ‘Last Post’ ceremony which takes place at the Menin Gate will complete your visit. Finally, we offer an optional visit to beautiful Bruges, with its stunning bridges, canals and preserved medieval buildings.
